Earrings and Cheap Wine
My husband made me something rad awhile back. Super
I want to share it so that other husbands can make their wives something rad. And then their wives will fall in love with them for how crafty and thoughtful they are. I love win-win situations.
I learned when visiting the South for the first time that no one uses the word "rad" down there. Must be a west-coast thing. But this fact is not relevant to the crafty post, so onward and upward...
You see, it's a jewelry hanger. To hang...your jewelry...on.
But it's so neat because it puts the goods on display! You can enjoy all the pretty cubic zirconium and plastic hoops. Feast your eyes on those pearl-enameled plastic bracelets ladies. Be jealous.
Plus anything that has chicken wire, or even somewhat resembles anything that belongs on a farm or at one point was even close to a farm, I love. Wire.& Chickens. Cows. Muddy boots. Wranglers. You get the idea.
We used recycled wood, circa 1992 WalMart TV stand, to make the frame. Then just stapled chicken wire to the back and hung it up.
Note: When I say "we" I actually mean Stuart. But "we" sounds so much more team-spirited!
I like to look at these. Carlee made them for me. I love them. I love Carlee. I wore them in Tye and Ty's wedding. It's happiness all around when I see them.
I selfishly bought these for myself a few years ago. They are yellow turquoise and I think they are the most beautiful earrings ever. The only downside is they are heavy, so they give me old lady earlobes when I wear them. You know the kind of earlobes I mean. I am sorry if you read this and you are old and you have old lady earlobes from wearing heavy earrings. It's worth it, though. So I wear them.
I bought these in a small Italian village in the Cinque Terre a few years ago while backpacking in Europe. It was one of those beautiful moments and I think of it every time I see them.
If I had a cheap bottle of wine in my hand while wearing these, I could convince myself I was back in Italy.
Hmmm....wine.
I have to go now.
