I used to cover my apartment from top to bottom with Febreeze each cleaning day before lighting a Pledge candle and spritzing myself in perfume. My how times have changed. It was after reading The Balance Plate that I began to take note of additives in things like room fresheners and fabric softeners. The more research I did, the more terrified I became. No wonder allergies and asthma have become such a problem! We're continuously filling the air in our home with toxins. Toxins that affect our central nervous system, and thus, our immune systems. These days, we take a much more natural approach to keeping a clean home. First and foremost, we fill it with the aroma of a loving family. Attitudes emit an aroma, no doubt. We practice forgiveness, charity, service, selflessness, and love. We try and keep stress to a minimum. We fill the kitchen with stocks and stews and freshly baked bread and maple sweetened oatmeal. We air out the home on crisp, sunny days by opening windows and doors. We keep a small forrest of indoor plants in each room to help filter the air. We run Himalayan salt lamps and burn beeswax candles to produce mood-boosting negative ions. And of course, we run essential oil diffusors around the home each and every day. These diffusors break down the oil particles and disperse them into the air - their effects can last for hours and hours. We live within these walls and it matters to me what else is floatin' around in here. So let me share a few of my favorite fall diffusor blends with you for this delicious time of year! Also. Stuart has helped me name them the most ridiculous things we could think of. Because it keeps us youthful and laughing. Essential oils for fall
