Rooster of Fortune Pitcher
The 'galletto' (rooster) symbolizes good wishes for blessings, prosperity and well-being. The Orvieto (or Orvietano) design is a very old and traditional pattern that originated during the Renaissance in the hill-top town of Orvieto, Italy. Masterfully hand painted with the original royal blue, yellow gold, and emerald green; traditional renaissance era colors to bring royal elegance to your table. Lead and cadmium free, dishwasher safe.
I originally discovered the Artistica brand in South Carolina, browsing through a small gift store owned by an Italian native. I came home with a bowl (carefully packed in my suitcase) that was one of the most beautiful, original pieces I’d ever seen. It took some time, but I eventually traced the brand back to Orvieto in Umbria, Italy. We are very grateful and excited to share their artisan Italian pottery here in the store.
